I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
